Er hat seinen Ursprung in den Lacs Turgis im Zentrum der Labrador-Halbinsel. Von dort fließt er in nördlicher Richtung zur Ungava Bay, in die er 55 km nordnordöstlich von Kuujjuaq mündet. Es handelt sich bei ihm um den ersten größeren Fluss östlich der Mündung des Rivière Koksoak.
