Lionel Vincent Baldenweg

Lionel Vincent Baldenweg (* 23. Juli 1977) ist ein schweizerisch-australischer Filmmusik-Produzent, Songwriter und Musiker.

Leben

Lionel Vincent Baldenweg wuchs in Australien und in der Schweiz auf. Seine Mutter ist die Kunstmalerin Marie-Claire Baldenweg und sein Vater ist der Musiker Pfuri Baldenweg. 2004 gründete er zusammen mit seinen Geschwistern Nora Baldenweg und Diego Baldenweg das Label Great Garbo. Zusammen komponierten und produzierten sie seither Musik für über 20 Spielfilme und über 300 internationalen Werbekampagnen. 2006 erhielten sie zwei Preise für beste Musik vom Eidgenössischen Departement des Inneren (EDI) sowie 2010 den SUISA Preis für beste Filmmusik (Spielfilm: 180° - Amok) am Internationalen Filmfestival Locarno. 2017 wurden sie für den Oscar nominierten Kurzfilm La Femme et le TGV mit der Schauspielikone Jane Birkin für ihre Filmmusik, als einer von 4 Finalisten, nominiert für den „Music + Sound Award“ (International).

2018 gewannen sie den Schweizer Filmpreis (beste Filmmusik) für Die kleine Hexe und wurden für ihre Filmmusik (Die Letzte Pointe) als einer von 6 Finalisten, nominiert für den „Music + Sound Award“ (International).

2019 wurden sie für ihre Filmmusik zum Spielfilm Zwingli an den World Soundtrack Awards (Public Choice) für „best score of the year“ nominiert. Im selben Jahr wurden sie für ihre Filmmusik zu The Unlisted für einen Australian Academy Award – AACTA für „best original music in TV“ nominiert.

Lionel Vincent Baldenweg ist Mitglied des Art Directors Club Schweiz, der Europäischen Filmakademie, Schweizer Filmakademie und der Australian Academy of Cinema & Television Arts (AACTA).
