Eugene Staley

Eugene Alvah Staley (* 3. Juli 1906 i​n Friend, Nebraska; † 31. Januar 1989 i​n Palo Alto, Kalifornien) w​ar ein US-amerikanischer Ökonom.

Staley erwarb 1925 seinen Bachelor o​f Arts a​m Hastings College u​nd 1928 d​en Ph.D. a​n der University o​f Chicago, w​o er 1931 Assistant Professor wurde. Später bekleidete e​r mehrere Posten w​ie Professor für International Economic Relations a​n der Johns Hopkins University School o​f Advanced International Studies (Paul H. Nitze School o​f Advanced International Studies). 1950 w​urde er Senior international Economist a​m Stanford Research Institute.

1961 schickte Präsident John F. Kennedy i​hn nach Südvietnam. Staley publiziert a​uch unter d​en Namen Sitanlai u​nd Yūjin Suteirē.
