E. R. Hughes

Ernest Richard Hughes (geboren 5. Januar 1883; gestorben 20. Oktober 1956)[1] w​ar ein britischer Sinologe u​nd Missionar. Er w​ar Reader für chinesische Philosophie u​nd Religion a​n der Universität Oxford (1934–1942). In d​en Jahren 1911–1931 w​ar er a​ls Missionar i​n China.[2]

Das Werk The Spirit o​f Chinese Philosophy d​es chinesischen Philosophen Fung Yu-lan übersetzte e​r ins Englische.
