Geschichte
Die heutige Siedlung geht auf koloniale Zeit zurück.[1] Sie wurde 1906 als Dumestation, einer Militärstation, als Folge des Aufstandes der Jebekole und der Makaa angelegt. Sie war die Hauptstadt des Dumebezirks.
