Populär wurden d​iese Möbel d​urch die Ausstattung d​er Bibliothek v​on Abbotsford, d​em Wohnhaus d​es schottischen Schriftstellers Walter Scott. Das Haus Abbotsford selbst w​urde mit seinen Erkern, Zinnen, Ecktürmen u​nd Stufengiebeln z​um Vorläufer d​es viktorianischen Baronialstils.
